Your Serve Should Be More Than a Point Starter

In competition, your serve is your first line of attack. You can control your opponent with the serve by either serving wide or using “T” serves. Only the wide serve and T serve will get your opponent off balance and force weak returns. This puts you in a good position to hurt your opponent with your next shot.

A good serve should put you in control of the point yet most juniors don’t use their serve effectively. Typically this is either because the player has poor technique or hasn’t had enough good quality practice. Check out the video below and hear Ean discuss how you can start using your serve to take control of the game with your serve.
